End-of-year one-on-ones are often stressful and surface-level. To improve them, Eddyline Coaching suggests leaders simply ask, "What's the most important thing you want to talk about today?" and listen fully. Close your laptop, use open-ended questions like "What else?" and let the employee lead the conversation. Separate feedback from development. Being present and having a real dialogue can build clarity, trust, and alignment.
