Provide Excellence. Experience Success.

FROM THE R3 EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

As I think about this quote from Thomas Paine, approaching the holiday season, I think about how blessed we are as educators. Gift giving has a long and historical tie to the holiday season, but I think about how lucky we are as educators to have the opportunity to give a gift every day of the year. As Thomas Paine said, "The mind, once enlightened, cannot become dark." When the light comes on for a child or an adult, there is such joy for the teacher. We, as educators, have the unique opportunity to give that gift of learning every day. What a blessing! As we enter this holiday season, on behalf of Region 3, we wish you many blessings for you and your family and hope for safe travels as you travel to visit loved ones.

Happy Holidays!

Grantees that request and receive an indirect cost rate from TEA are able to use the rate to recover organization-wide administrative costs of managing federal and state grants, such as costs related to accounting, budgeting, purchasing, auditing, and payroll processing. Annually, districts are required to request an indirect cost rate by submitting the Indirect Cost Rate Proposal (ICRP) Additional Costs Workbook (ACW).

This submission is due to TEA by January 19, 2023.

Region 3 School Finance Services will be offering two workday opportunities for districts to bring their data and complete the workbook with onsite support available.

HELPFUL GRANT RESOURCES

Each year, the Region 3 Early Childhood Intervention program opens its doors to the hundreds of children enrolled to have THE party of the year!

Though this year it may have looked different, it was change for the best reason. With recent growth in our program we were in dire need of a larger facility to welcome our kiddos and we received it with a little help from our friends at Victoria All Star Dance Academy. Our families flooded in from all over to play games, eat cookies, visit Santa, and leave with a free developmentally appropriate toy.

And of course, none of our holiday festivities would have been possible without the help of our partners: Driscoll Health Plan, Klean Corp International, Victoria Police Department, Farrell Welding Service, Jamie Powell, Goyen Electric, Teacher’s Toolbox, Chick-fil-A, and of course, Region 3 Education Service Center!
