This month Thandy reports, "Another successful month of ministry for all our four Reach4Life countries. More schools and prisons are fully operating now, and we have more access to our small groups. We've also sent Bibles to groups in Zimbabwe and Botswana. Covid is still a challenge in some areas, but things are getting much better."

In our previous newsletter we told you about a community event addressing gender-based violence (GBV) that Reach4Life was invited to attend. Connections were made with local police departments and Reach4Life is now in 19 police stations! Captain Lucky Lubengo (above), Dobsonville police station, says, “I know this program was made for the youth but you’ll be surprised how much it touches our lives also as adults. Here in our station we use R4L for devotions as we start our day and we also allow Peer educators to teach in our holding cells. Keep up the good work - this is a life changing tool.”

Above is Peer Educator, Bheki, speaking at Lerato Thando High School in Harrismith, Free State Province, where there have been six deaths recently due to drug usage. Bheki coordinates all the Peer Educators who serve in drug rehabs in the program and is considered the expert on anything relating to drug use. (He is facing this way to speak to more students sitting on the opposite side of what you see here.)



Each year, nonprofits are required to file form 990 with the IRS. It includes a record of our contributions and expenses, balance sheet, and explanations showing how your money was used. 13,524 Bibles Distributed in February!

February was a busy month, full of Peer Educator trainings and program rollouts. There are so many open doors to launch the program! This month 9,213 Bibles were distributed in schools, 2,000 in prisons, 1,652 in drug rehabs and 659 in church youth groups. This includes 500 to Zimbabwe and 60 to Botswana. New work is taking place in both countries. Representing the rollouts are pictures of Maskhene Primary in Soweto, Johannesburg (above) and Lobethal Mission School, Tugela Ferry, KwaZulu-Natal (below).

Simthandile Morafe, age 14, from Rustenburg, North West Province, says, "I am a fox peer educator. Everyday during break I sit with my friends and share the word, we discuss topics that are in the R4L book. My teacher says our English has improved since reading the R4L book. If I get difficult questions during our meeting I get help from our senior peer educators." We can see that her friends are enjoying going through the lessons with her.

Johannes (middle) says, I came out of prison two years ago. I had received Christ through the R4L Program inside prison. I attended a training and became a Peer Educator. Now I teach in 3 high schools in Randfontein JHB where I stay with my family. My own life has changed by the program, I have full confidence every time I walk into a classroom because I know His word will never return to Him void.”

Teacher Mrs. Zama Khoza shares, “Academics alone do not build a child. Our school has better behaving kids now since we welcomed R4L to come to our school. The Peer educators are great role models, thank you for serving our school.”
