June is  Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month &
National Safety Month

Embrace what you don't know, especially in the beginning, because what you don't know can become your greatest asset. It ensures that you will absolutely be doing things different from everybody else.

Each year CHC provides training and consulting to hundreds of agencies, their staff of nurses, therapists, personal care providers, and aides as well as to family and other caregivers who provide in-home services to the infirm, chronically ill and disabled  to improve care, quality and safety.

CHC received an average rating of 4.98 Stars out of a possible 5 for Learner rating of Quality and Program satisfaction across all live and online training in 2018. Also, 98 percent of CHC's Learners would recommend training sessions to a colleague!

Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) Program

Under the RAC, all provider types will be audited. T he RAC vendor will audit the following types of claims: Health First Colorado fee-for-service, waiver services, and managed care, and Child Health Plan Plus(CHP+) claims.

Section 6411 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Pub. L. 111-148, enacted on March 23, 2010) (the Affordable Care Act) directs States to establish programs by December 31, 2010 in which they will contract with 1 or more Recovery Audit Contractors (Medicaid RACs). The Medicaid RACs will review Medicaid claims submitted by providers of services for which payment may be made under the State Plan or a waiver of the State Plan to identify overpayments and underpayments.

Who is the Department's RAC Contractor?

As of June 2016, the Department (HCPF) has awarded Health Management Systems, Inc., (HMS) a contract to act as its Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC).
HMS serves as a RAC vendor in several other states around the nation. In addition, the Department is currently contracted with HMS to conduct third-party liability reviews to determine if another party is legally responsible for claims payment. The Department and HMS are now working to create a provider outreach plan on the RAC and what providers can expect.

Mental Health First Aid
Mental Health first aid is an evidence-based, public health training program that teaches participants the signs and symptoms of mental health challenges or crisis, what to do in an emergency, and where to turn for help. MHFA is implemented around the U.S. and the world.
Automation Need High in Home Care

Unlike other industries where human jobs are being replaced by automation, home care faces an opposite situation where there will not be enough available care providers to meet the demand. The immediate results, that expensive hospitalizations are being replaced by more affordable home-based services provided mostly by non-medical care providers. While this is a beginning, it won't be enough. The answer for successful agencies will be in automation (Ankota.com)
