Little Patuxent River Half Marathon, 10K & 5K
RACE RESCHEDULED UPDATE - 02.10.26
Dear Runner,
As you know, the 2026 Little Patuxent River Half Marathon, 10K and 5K has been rescheduled for Saturday, Feb 21. ALL three races will take place on the same day with the following schedule:
5K – 8:00 AM start
Half Marathon & 10K – 10:00 AM start

IMPORTANT!
Race day is 11 days away. Currently, the trails remain frozen and it is unsafe to run on them. We are hopeful with the upcoming 40-50 degree weather that the trail conditions will improve. We will continue to provide updates leading up to race day as to the status of this race. We thank you for your understanding.
Your 2026 registration will automatically transfer to the rescheduled event on Feb 21—no action is required on your part. Registration monies have already been spent for this race (shirts, medals, park & police fees, etc.) and we are unable to offer refunds. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility.
Unable to race with us on Feb 21? Runners have 3 options to choose from.
- Let your registration go. No action needed on your part. Simply not attend the race.
- Have a friend pick up your race bib, shirt and finisher medal. Run the race on your own at a later date. If choosing this option, you will not be able to defer to the 2027 race.

Defer your registration to the 2027 race. The deadline to process a defer is Wednesday, Feb 18. Defer fee applies. For instructions on how to process a defer, go to www.rivalraceseries.com/registrationpolicy.
Why is there a defer fee?
The defer fee covers the cost of your shirt, medal, gloves, and other fees (police, park rental, etc) for the 2027 race. If we did not charge for this, then you would not receive these items next year as there would be no monies to pay for them. If you chose to defer and pay the defer fee, next year you will receive an email with instructions to register for no additional cost (for free!). Additionally, the race will make $0 from your entry next year.
If you previously deferred your registration and would like to be placed back into the race, please send us an email and we’ll add you back to into the race on Feb 21. Send email to racedirector@ripitevents.com.
