November project-wide meeting. Zoom link

Dear RADx-UP Partners,

Native American Heritage Month is a time to celebrate the traditions, languages, and stories of Native American, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, and affiliated Island communities. Join with us as we pay tribute to the rich and diverse cultures and heritage of these communities.

The 2023 theme at the U.S. Department of Interior is Celebrating Tribal Sovereignty and Identity. RADx-UP projects centered on Tribal communities continue to work collaboratively to honor Tribal Sovereignty and to conduct studies that both reflect the governance of the Tribes and benefit their communities. These important collaborations have created pathways to better understand the impacts of COVID-19 on Tribal communities.

Thank you to these RADx-UP projects as well as the RADx-UP American Indian and Alaska Native Working Group for their hard work to promote health equity.

New Long-COVID research summaries

available to RADx-UP projects

New research summaries about the long-term effects of COVID-19 are available through RECOVER. The RECOVER initiative supports research focused on how to better predict, treat, and prevent PASC (post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2), including Long COVID. These short and long-form Research Summaries share key findings in accessible, plain language. RADx-UP partners are encouraged to access these research summaries and share them widely within their communities.

APHA 2023 Annual Meeting and Expo

Several RADx-UP projects teams presented their work at the American Public Health Association (APHA) Annual Meeting and Expo in Atlanta Nov.12-15.

"RADx-UP projects from across the nation were well-represented through posters and oral presentations in many sessions of the 2023 APHA," said Dorothy Castille, NIH Program Officer. "Presentations and publications are crucial to informing both the local and scientific communities."

RADx-UP partners presented community-engaged research results focused on an array of populations and communities, including Black communities, Hispanic/Latino/Latinx communities, American Indian and Alaska Native communities, and Pacific Islander communities.

“The impact and influence of RADx-UP continues to reverberate across the nation as we move forward from the pandemic,” said CCPH executive director Al Richmond. “This year's APHA is an opportunity for us to continue emphasizing the historic work of RADx-UP and the many academic and community partners who have contributed to its success.” Learn more.
