RAGBRAI Nation,

You would think that a ride that takes place in July would have a downtime. October, November, and December should be that downtime, right? That just isn't the case. For a ride like RAGBRAI, that is only one week out of the year needs those other 51 weeks to get ready.

Looking at roads, talking to towns, and creating a logo is just the start of it. We are receiving applications from communities that want to host you in 2027. We love seeing the amount of interest from communities with questions and seeing their excitement with the possibility of being a town on the route. Towns have until 10/31 to get their applications into RAGBRAI. We don't just wait until then. Behind the scenes, meetings are already happening. With road construction being the biggest potential issue, we need to know the facts. RAGBRAI is also Iowa's best kept secret. It makes it hard to learn the facts when not everyone is good at keeping our secret.

We are also hiring. If you like puzzles, this is the biggest puzzle you will ever be a part of. We just hired a new team member to help us with Ride Operations. We are still looking for someone that can help us with merchandise and our retail space. All this has to be completed before the end of the year.

For me, the 4th quarter starts my traveling for 2027. I get to see Iowa change from one season to another. Fall is my favorite season. Seeing the leaves change and being able to wear long sleeve shirts and jeans is something I look forward to each year.

2027 Logo and Jersey Reveal Party

The countdown to RAGBRAI LIV begins now – and we’re kicking things off in style! Join us at RAGBRAI HQ on Friday, November 6th for an evening of celebration as we unveil the official RAGBRAI LIV logo and the 2027 jersey, plus a special surprise addition to RAGBRAI HQ that you won’t want to miss.

Whether you’re a longtime rider or gearing up for your first journey across Iowa, this reveal marks the start of something special.

From the Mayor of Marshalltown

Mike Ladehoff, Marshalltown's Mayor, wrote about the impact of RAGBRAI's visit to town last summer.

"RAGBRAI has come and gone, and by talking with well over a hundred riders, Marshalltown rocks and is on some riders top 5 lists of towns they have ever visited over the years of riding the event. Every single rider was more than impressed with us, not a single negative remark was made. None, zero!

By all accounts, Marshalltown stepped up and took pride in OUR TOWN, showing it off a bit...

...When RAGBRAI is looking for overnight towns, some towns are not exactly up on the idea. It's their loss.

Every year RAGBRAI and riders spend over 25 million dollars during the week. I am very sure that Marshalltown businesses got our fair share."
