 IQRA' & Ramadan
RAMADAN is the month of Qur'an, fasting, praying and charitable giving: Zakah. Allah said in the Qur'an, "Zakah expenditures are only for the poor and for the needy and for those employed to collect [zakah] and for bringing hearts together [for Islam] and for freeing captives [or slaves] and for those in debt and for the cause of Allah and for the [stranded] traveler - an obligation [imposed] by Allah. And Allah is Knowing and Wise."
Many scholars have permitted paying Zakah to Islamic organizations in the West under the prevision of "the cause of Allah: Fi sabili-llah." You can help IQRA' fi sabili-llah in our mission of spreading Islamic education to children worldwide. We strive to bring hearts together for Islam in many underprivileged communities here and around the world. It is very advisable for Muslims to distribute their zakah during this month. Remember us in your prayers and when you share your wealth for the sake of Allah.

TARAWEEH PRAYERS AT IQRA' SKOKIE OFFICE
Hafiz Ikhlas will be leading Taraweeh prayer (20 Rakats) from the first night of Ramadan and will complete the Quran on 20th night, inshallah at IQRA' head office located at 7450 Skokie Blvd. Skokie IL 60077. Isha prayer will be at 9:45 PM inshallah. The prayer is open to sisters as well as brothers, small children are not encouraged - Sorry, no babysitting service could be arranged. IQRA' iPad Contest Results

IQRA' Concluded "Connecting to Allah Through Qur'an" Class and held its iPAD Drawing
By the help of Allah (swt) we concluded our class "Connecting to Allah Through Quran". This 7 week program started on June 10, 2011, at IQRA' headquarters in Skokie, IL. Over 30 students attended and participated in this class. On Friday July 22, 2011, students were presented with certificates of participation, copies of the Holy Qur'an in Arabic and other awards.
Also, during the same ceremony IQRA' held its drawing for prizes, with the first prize winner being an iPAD 2. The following winners were selected at random:
1. Apple iPAD 2 Winner: Senna Zineddin - Florence, KY
2. Complete Sirah Book Set Winner: Zafar Siddiqui - Blaine, MN
3. Complete Sahaba Book Set Winner: Erum Iqbal - Northbrook, IL
