Dear Students and Families,

We've had an outstanding start to our school year. Summer PREP, faculty orientation, the Community Picnic, Senior Overnight (see photo above), all-school Kinnus/Gathering, the first days of school, KPA's Community Shabbat, the beginning of grade-level Seminars, our first KabShab, first session of Heart Work, our New Parent Orientation, and TOMORROW, our first of this year's Kikar Coffee Conversations!

Kikar Coffee Conversations takes place the first Friday of each month from 8:15-9:30am. This time is an opportunity to connect and converse with other parents and Kehillah staff.

This Friday's coffee welcomes Dr. Roy Danovitch, Associate Head of School, who will share his Just Communities model for building community through student voice and the democratic process. We will also be joined by Jamie Reichman, who is helping us prepare for our accreditation work by exploring the question, What makes Kehillah choosable? 

No need to RSVP, just show up ready to sip and schmooze. Hope to see you there!

Important Updates

Admissions and Enrollment

We still have a few remaining spots in 9th and 10th grade. If you know of anyone interested in attending Kehillah for the 2023-2024 academic year, please have them get in touch with Dr. Dave Weiner, Director of Admissions & Enrollment Management, as soon as possible. He can be reached at dweiner@kehillah.org and 650-213-9600 ext. 154. 

The application for the 2024-2025 academic year will open tomorrow, September 1. As in past years, you need to create an account on Ravenna and complete all of the application steps. Please forward this message to those who may be interested in attending Kehillah next year (2024-25).

Kehillah Goes to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival

From September 5-8, Kehillah Theatre will shepherd students in grades 10-12 on educational travel to the acclaimed Oregon Shakespeare Festival in beautiful Ashland. 

The itinerary includes three Festival plays and musicals, a backstage and campus tour, conversations with Festival artists, and more. 

Faculty chaperones will include Ms. Cole-Farrell, Drama teacher, and Mr. Pagano, Dean of English.

Join the Kol Emeth community and Kehillah as we clean up the creek! Just next to Gunn and leading into Barron Park is a creek that is life-sustaining to our local ecosystem.

Come learn about the importance of the creek from Gary Kremen, a long-time KE member and former chair of the Santa Clara Water Board. Then we will go out and clean up trash along the creek and Arastradero Road.

Let's get ready to celebrate the birthday of the world by cleaning up and preserving the Earth!

We will meet on Sunday, September, 10 at 9:00 a.m. at the Gunn Parking Lot. Join us for breakfast after at KE.

This year, Kehillah will hold the PSAT and SAT on Thursday, October 26. The PSAT is available for free for students in grades 10 and 11, and the SAT will be available for $65 for students in grades 11 and 12.

Please register by Friday, September 22.
