Q3 Housing Market Report

Key Market Trends: Q3 2023

  • Sales activity continues to be mute through the entire RAR regional market.
  • Fewer new contracts as pending sales activity falls again, signals continuation of the cooling market through the fall.
  • Upward pressure on home prices persistent despite market slowdown, strong this quarter growth in most areas.
  • Inventory in the RAR market continues to grow, but is concentrated in a small number of local markets.

Fairhaven: A Fair Housing Simulation

Commit to combatting discrimination in real estate

Discrimination in the real estate industry is real and ongoing. As community leaders, REALTORS® have the opportunity to be a part of equitable and inclusive change.

Inspired by real stories, Fairhaven is an interactive simulation training designed to help REALTORS® identify, prevent, and address discriminatory practices in housing. Agents work against the clock to sell homes in the fictional town of Fairhaven while confronting realistic scenarios where discrimination can occur.

Philanthropic Spotlight

Keller Williams Richmond West partnered with Virginia Home for Boys and Girls on Thursday, May 11, 2023. Over 100 agents participated in this volunteer event. They raised money, planted gardens, built shelves, stocked shelves, power washed, cleaned, donated items, set up a soccer field, basketball area, did demolition work, and cleaned the basketball gym. This all-day event provided much-needed support to this 30+ acre campus serving youth in our community. Virginia Home for Boys and Girls has been serving youth in crisis for almost 180 years. Their services range from ages 11-17 group residential care, ages 18-25 independent living programs, a fully accredited K-12 specialized education program/school, and therapeutic resources.

Special thanks to Andy Taylor with Junkluggers, John Maghamez with Vesta Settlements, Todd Call from Atlantic Coast Mortgage, Matthew Oswald Photography and Brett Cole with America’s Preferred Home Warranty for their donations.
