RASCW/SCWMLS Exploring New Tools
This past year has brought dramatic change in many ways, but recent news has led to greater concern regarding the future of our industry. I am writing you today to assure you that your association is following these developments closely and our goal continues to be to provide the best available tools to our members.

Much of the recent news is larger than just our association, they are national conversations. Leadership at the REALTORS® Association of South Central Wisconsin and SCWMLS are highly engaged in those conversations, following the updates, and communicating to membership when news impacts them.

It is important to remember that real estate brokers and agents should not engage in any activities that give even the appearance of anticompetitive conduct. In particular, you should not have any discussions, publicly or privately, with your competitors, your peers in this business, about any kind of collective action toward a competitor.

If you need more guidance, see NAR policies on antitrust compliance.

Thank you for your membership and please continue to watch for updates concerning RASCW and SCWMLS through our channels of communication or please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you have questions or concerns.

Please contact me at [email protected] with questions.
Covid Tools for the Spring Market
As the spring market heats up, it is important for real estate professionals to do what they can to ensure the safety of the communities they serve. While there is no specific mandate that outlines the required actions, the Wisconsin REALTORS® Association and the National Association of REALTORS® have created guides to help agents navigate.

RASCW and SCWMLS have also created a sign that can be used at open houses to help set expectations for those in attendance, Available Here.

Finally, below is an example of showing instructions that brokers and agents can use for their listings. The language is not mandatory and may be edited to your desired version. It was drafted to help streamline the listing process and create consistency:

Please wear masks at all times, wear booties, and use hand sanitizer at the door or wear gloves.
Please leave all lights on and doors open and no overlapping showings allowed.
Showings should be limited to pre-approved buyers and decision-makers only.
If anyone in your party is showing symptoms or has been in contact recently with someone who tested positive for COVID, please do not enter.

WRA 360: Ep.2 - Three Megatrends to Watch in 2021
Watch this video with noted housing expert & Wisconsin native Dr. Mark J. Eppli for a discussion of three megatrends impacting Wisconsin single-family real estate sales and values in 2021.

2020 brought massive disruption to the U.S. economy and the Wisconsin housing market. But when the dust settled, the Wisconsin housing market set new records in 2020.

Year-end sales were at an all-time high of $88,685 which is 52% higher than 2007, and house prices eclipsed $200,000 for the first time. What will 2021 bring, and what might be on the horizon or around the corner that impacts the Wisconsin single-family home market in the future?
