Deacon Nominations for the Class of 2028

As we anticipate the process of nominating deacons for the Class of 2028 we ask that our congregation spend the next several weeks in a season of prayer, seeking the Lord’s guidance in selecting those from within our congregation who would serve us in this role. Though there are many ways in which the members of a church serve the body and the community, the Bible holds out two offices as set apart in their service: pastors and deacons. Therefore, it is important that we be intentional in prayer as we engage in this process of making our nominations.

Nominations will be made during the weeks of September 29th to October 12th.

Find the qualifications and responsibilities of a deacon from our by-laws, including the Biblical qualifications for deacons, here.

Fall Work Day at RBC is THIS SATURDAY, October 4th. Please come help if you're able. There will be plenty of projects both inside and outside--maintenance and repair, sprucing up, and otherwise. All are welcome!

Special Guest Speakers!

Join us on Wednesday, October 22nd to hear from Dr. Mateusz Wichary of the Polish Baptist Seminary and Dr. Peter Balla of the Baptist Seminary in Budapest, Hungary. Dr. Wichary is the leader of the theological education initiative in Tanzania through which RBC serves.

Dinner will be an "American Potluck." RBC will provide the meat, but please sign up in your Sunday School folder to bring a side or a dessert. In lieu of the regular cost of dinner, donations will be received to support RBC's trip to Tanzania this winter. Please register through the usual dinner link so that we can get an accurate headcount.

See the October 22nd dinner link as well for more information on our speakers or to make a donation to the trip in advance.

Prayer focus from Romans 12:16

"Lord help us to be a people who experience and exemplify true harmony and unity. Help us to lay aside our pride and to humble ourselves before one another, putting one another and his or her needs above our own wants and desires."

Further prayer points:

1. Exodus 3:12 NASB “And He said, ‘Certainly I will be with you, and this shall be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall worship God at this mountain.’” Father God, You are our God and You do what You say You will do. Today we celebrate who You are and that Your word is truth. May You find us truthful in all our dealings.

2. Deuteronomy 6: 4-5 NASB “Hear, O Isreal! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.” Father God, help us to love You with a pure and honest love each day. Would You remind us when we start to place anything or person before You? Would You help us to keep our hearts clean and our motives pure?
