Greetings Church Family,
What a tremendous time we had last week on Thursday and Sunday celebrating our risen Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is risen indeed!
This week we move back to our regular digital schedule including... (1) Sunday Morning Prayer and Proclamation Worship Broadcast (2) Sunday School (3) Mid-Week Prayer and Bible Study (4) Kid’s Talk Weekly Zoom gathering and (5) Adult Choir Prayer Gathering.
Sunday, we conclude our study of the Gospel of John with a look at
The Test of Love
found in John 21. What a tremendous journey this has been. To build on the things we have learned thus far, I will be leading a new study from 1 John beginning Wednesday, May 6, and running through our time together this summer.
Some have asked, where will we go following our study of the Gospel of John? Beginning Sunday, April 26, we begin a new study exploring the book of Philippians. This little epistle was written by the Apostle Paul to thank the Christians at Philippi for the gift they had sent him and to strengthen these believers by showing them that true joy comes from Jesus alone. The big themes of our study will be humility, self-sacrifice, unity, Christian living and joy.
As you know, we tentatively have
our next target for gathering together on Sunday, May 3
. The Church Council will gather digitally this Sunday, April 19, to assess current information and determine if the date is still viable. Please keep our leadership in your daily prayers around these important decisions.
Sincere thanks for your ministry to one another as well as our community at large during this unprecedented season of shelter in place. Thanks also for your financial contributions to the General Budget, Mission Fund and Debt Freedom Fund.
As you are reading today’s article, I am celebrating my first-year anniversary as your Senior Pastor (April 15). Over this past year God has richly blessed our ministry together, and for that I am sincerely and humbly grateful. I love you deeply church family. Please continue to pray daily for Melinda and me. Know that we are tremendously thankful that we are family and that we are in this thing together.
Peace, Hope, Love, Joy and Jesus to all!
