Greetings Church Family,
I pray that this mailing finds you and yours well.
Today our weekly RBC newsletter takes on a new format in light of changes outflowing from
and its impact on the Riverchase Baptist Church family. Over the next few weeks we will use this communication channel to share current information and updates related directly to our church family.
We begin with a huge thank you to everyone who joined our Facebook Live broadcast this past Sunday. To date over 1000 people have viewed or interacted with the broadcast. As Chase and I were leading the service, we were able to see names of those logged in and prayed for the +50 families who were watching live.
The broadcast from my office was well received with several commenting about the warmth and connection people experienced, albeit from many locations. In consultation with leadership, our plan is to originate our broadcasts in this manner moving forward instead of from the sanctuary. We sincerely hope that this touchpoint is a time of worship and connection. We also hope that those viewing will feel the freedom to interact with one another through prayer and the ministry of encouragement.
Thinking about prayer and encouragement, Jim Helton is now home recovering from his recent surgery. He and Wylene are doing well and praying for us as we pray from them. Others on our prayer list include Gene Roach who is improving from pulmonary issues at home. Suzie Watterson’s shoulder surgery is still on today. Several others in our church family are experiencing various degrees of illness and need our prayers.
Know that there are many prayer warriors in Riverchase Baptist Church. Please don’t hesitate to let us know how we can pray for you as well as those in our community. You may email your requests to
to submit a prayer request via our website.
Beyond prayer, we have church members that have volunteered to run errands for those needing assistance. If anyone needs someone to pick up and deliver a prescription or groceries, please let
or one of our
know and we will make the connections.
We discovered after our broadcast Sunday that some of you do not have access to Facebook and could not participate in our services. To address this challenge we have added a link to the front page of the RBC web page that will allow everyone to view the service live or following the event, even if they do not have a Facebook account. Sunday broadcasts may be viewed at 10:30am each week through the following links...
We are also pleased to announce that our Wednesday Bible Study will be broadcast via ZOOM tonight at 6pm. To join the Bible Study, follow this meeting

We are doing our best to stay connected as a church family. Our Deacons are contacting their deacon families to make sure everyone is ok. We have provided ZOOM technology to our Sunday School leaders allowing them to gather Sunday School groups online for Bible Study, connection and prayer. Our church council has a group email site allowing leaders to communicate effectively.
Additionally, we have added a new after-hours emergency phone line for our membership to leave a message for our ministers. Members may dial 205-565-8359 and leave a text or voice message. The system will them alert the ministers of the text or voice message and they will return a call as soon as possible.
With that said, many in our church family have my mobile phone number. If not and you need it, please call the church office (205-985-4495) and
will provide it to you directly. Know that I do not mind any RBC member having my phone number or contacting me directly.
I am glad we are family and that we are in this thing together. I love you and I am honored to serve as your Pastor.
Peace, Hope, Love, Joy and Jesus to all!
