Median home prices in all regions increased from one year ago, with the Northeast region showing the strongest price gain . The median price in the Northeast was $312,100, up 11.5% from January 2019.

Debt Levels Are Surging Among Older Americans
T otal debt for Americans over the age of 70 has jumped 543% over the last two decades. Mortgages are a big part of that debt, according to a new report from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Americans in their 60s also saw debt significantly increase in that time, rising 471%, the report shows.The percentage of households headed by a person over 75 who has debt payments that are more than 40% of their income rose by more than 23%.

2020 Gates Scholarship Applications Available
Children and step children of CT REALTORS® are eligible to apply. *** Note that grandchildren are not eligible unless the legal ward of the grandparents (documentation required). Applicants must be high school seniors heading to college or current college students with at least one year left to complete. The  Foundation  awards scholarships each year in memory of Raymond Gates Jr., a former Executive Vice President of the association who died in a car accident. Nearly $1,000,000 in scholarships has been awarded over the past 43 years. The deadline to apply is April 8. No late or incomplete applications will be considered. Access info  here .
