2021 Fair Information
  1. Find your Fair Book at your local home supply store, Ravalli County Fairgrounds, our office or online: http://ravalli.us/545/Fair 
  2. Submit your Fair entry form (either online or hardcopy) by the first Friday in August (August 5) to Fair Office. This is found in the Fair Book on page 71 for non-livestock and page 69 for livestock entries.
  3. Meet with your Org Leader to make sure they have checked your record books for completeness.
  4. Find out when your club is working their 4 hour shift in the Corner Café – talk to your Org Leader.
  5. Find out when your club is working their 3 hour shift in the Indoor Exhibit Building – talk to your Org Leader.
  6. Read 4-H & FFA General Rules and Regulations on page 50-52 of Fair Book.
  7. Need help completing your fair entry form? Come talk to the Fair Entry Help Night on Tuesday, July 27 at 6 PM, Ravalli County Fairgrounds

Indoor Exhibits:
  1. Make your appointment for Interview Judging – contact Jocelyn at the Extension Office by Wednesday, August 18
  2. Read 4-H Still Exhibits Interview Judging on page 61

Livestock and Small Animals:
  1. All Livestock Exhibitors (except Poultry and “Show & Go” Livestock) must pay $4 per Animal for bedding transportation fees. Online and faxed entries cannot be accepted due to payment. No bedding fee for Poultry and “Show & Go” Livestock.
  2. Beef, Dairy, Goat, Sheep, Swine – Read your Project Checklist and Requirements for detailed advice: http://ravalli.msuextension.org/4hlivestock.htm

  4. Are you selling in the Livestock Sale or Small Animal Sale? We need parents for both events to make it a success. To help with the Livestock Buyer’s Breakfast, contact the Extension Office. Like and share both of these events on Facebook! Plus, mark your calendar for the Marketing Workshop on Thursday, July 23 at 6 PM, Ravalli County Fairgrounds Event Center.

More Fair Information
Gate Tickets, Carnival Tickets & Livestock Passes:
Gate tickets, carnival tickets and livestock passes are available for sale at the Fair Office. Don’t forget these need picked by BEFORE fair.
Camping At Fair:
The Ravalli County Fairgrounds is ready to start taking reservations for camping during Fair. Stop by the office and fill out a form or call in to 406-363-3411. Dry camping during Fair is $20 and the limited BASIC electrical spaces are $15/night, first come first get.
Pine Shavings:
This is just a reminder that pine shavings will be charged per project and limited supply is available. Please be cognizant of that during the process of bedding your animals. Feel free to call Melissa at the Fair Office with any questions. 406-363-3411

Bikes at Fair:
Due to public safety concerns and the amount of foot traffic on the grounds, skateboards, ATV’s and bikes will not be allowed past the ticket booths. Feel free to leave these in the racks provided at the gates or in your vehicles. Feel free to call Melissa at the Fair Office with any questions. 406-363-3411

Meritorious Service Award

Each year the Ravalli County 4H program recognizes individuals, businesses, or organizations, who have exhibited consistent and strong support of the 4H program. “Giving” relates to time, energy, leadership and/or support provided to enhance the educational mission of 4H.

The nominees may or may not be 4H leaders, teen members or volunteers. Recipients will be awarded during the Livestock Sale at the Ravalli County Fair.

If you have a nomination of someone you think should receive this award, please provide the name of the proposed recipient with explanation of their service to 4H accompanied with your name and contact information. The 4H Advisory Council will consider all nominations.

Nominations are due to MSU/Ravalli County Extension Office by scheduled July 4H Advisory Council Meeting.

4-H Indoor Exhibit Interviews
It’s time to call and set up your appointments for interview judging for this year’s Ravalli County Fair! This year’s interview day for non-perishable entries is Monday, August 23. The perishable interview day, which includes all food and horticulture projects, is Sunday, August 29. Please call the Extension Office to set up your appointments as soon as you know what you will be entering in the fair this year!

The last day to make appointments is Wednesday, August 18. If you want an appointment after this day, certain time slots may not be available or the schedule may be full.

2021 Montana State 4-H Horse Show will be held at the Cottonwood Equine Center in Joliet from Sept. 24-26. 
Fair Patterns
Three patterns per discipline/level are posted. The fair judges will then choose one of the pre-posted patterns for each of the fair classes.
