Dear RCA Families,

We would like to share the following RCA highlights for this week. These statements are just summaries of important details. Please scroll down to learn more about each area:

Resurrection Day Service: We have enclosed a link to the video from this past Sunday's Resurrection Day Service at Rock City Church! What a powerful service! Pastor Jim, Pastor Jess, Ms. Shawn, and the team at Rock City Church did a wonderful job sharing the power leaving your grave clothes behind!

  • Yearbooks- We are working on yearbooks for this current school year. Now is the time to place your order for your yearbook. Please see the flyer below for more details.

  • Report Cards- Report Cards will go home next week when scholars return from spring break! As we enter the fourth quarter, it will be important to check in with your scholar's teacher to see how you can best support your scholar as we are preparing scholars to transition to the next grade level. Please reach out to your scholar's teacher(s) to schedule a parent-teacher conference through Class Dojo.

  • Cap & Gown Orders- Galeone Photography will return to RCA on May 6 for "Cap & Gown" portraits for scholars in grades K4, K5, 5th, and 8th. Please see details below for assigned colors and sample cap & gown sets. Your scholar will need to bring his/her cap & gown to take photos on May 6th.

  • Spring Baseball/Softball/T-Ball- Christian Youth Athletics is now registering youth ages 4-13 for spring tee ball, baseball, and softball. Learn more by clicking the baseball registration flyer below. Baseball begins when we return from Spring Break!

  • Earth Day Projects- RCA will celebrate Earth Day on April 22, by completing a variety of indoor and outdoor school service projects around the campus. Scholars may wear clothing and shoes that they don't mind getting a little messy as we will be weeding, planting, painting, and more!

  • Apparent Awakening Equipping Night- We are hosting an "A-parent Awakening" Equipping Night on Friday, April 24th at RCA in the gym. This will be an evening of powerful equipping for parents, grandparents and family. WE ASK THAT ALL RCA PARENTS ATTEND THIS MEETING. Topics will include: "Spring Cleaning" by our school founder, Bishop Bart Pierce, "Understanding Your Child" by Mrs. Traut, Healthy Habits by Mrs. Kristin Burnworth, and Financial Foundations by Mr. Robb Lucas. We encourage families to arrive at 6:30 p.m. so that children can get settled into their child care areas before the equipping activities begin. There will be activities for children 2-10 at Campus #2 and a youth night for teens ages 11-17 at Campus #1. Additional registration for the teen activities will be sent via Class Dojo. You are welcome to invite additional family and friends, but please have them RSVP so we can be sure to have enough supplies and child care for the evening.

  • RCA Honors Banquet- RCA held a formal sports banquet last spring that was a wonderful evening for our scholar athletes. We have decided to shift this banquet to a formal honors banquet where honor will be given for academics, athletics, parent volunteers, and community partners. The banquet will also be open to family and friends who desire to see and support the good things happening at RCA. Please save the date for Friday, May 15th. More details to follow soon!

  • Yearbook Orders- It's time to order your 2025-2026 RCA Yearbook! The yearbook will feature individual student pictures, class pictures, electives, and special events throughout the year. Please see the flyer below or more details.

  • April Reading Race- Last's month's "Reading Race" was such a hit that we decided to offer another challenge during the month of April. Scholars may read during the month of April and have a parent/guardian complete their reading log for a chance to be named "Top Class Reader" for the month of April. All reading logs must be submitted by Thursday, April 30th during the school day for consideration.

  • Scholar Drop-Off/Late Arrival Policy Update- All scholars in grades K-12 must arrive to school by 8:20 a.m. When scholars arrive late to school, a parent/guardian must escort them to the office and sign the late log. A late pass will be issued to the scholar from the office. This pass will be presented to the teacher upon entry into the classroom.

Educationally yours,

Middle & High School Highlights

MS/HS SCHOLAR REMINDERS

  • Emphasis on Academics- As we wrap up the final quarter of the school year, we have several teachers who are offering after school academic support to help scholars be prepared for the next grade level. Please be sure to connect with your scholar's teachers during 3rd quarter parent-teacher conferences to see how your scholar can participate.

  • Fourth Quarter Focus- As we finish out the school year we are working on a few initiatives to help scholars build memorization and entrepreneural skills.
  • Weekly Memory Verses- Scholars will receive a weekly memory verse every Monday to recite. Scholars may recite the verse to their homeroom teachers throughout the week, but must have it memorized before the new verse is distributed the following Monday. Thus far, we have learned Ephesians 6:10-18 and Psalms 91:1-4.

  • MS/HS Spelling Bee- We will hold a MS/HS Spelling Bee on Friday, May 8th. Scholars will receive sample word lists to begin practicing when we return from the break.

  • Entrepreneurship ELA Unit- Scholars will work on an entrepreneurship and financial literacy unit in ELA during fourth quarter. We are looking for guest presenters who are corporate leaders or business owners to share your experience with the scholars between 9:00-12:30, M-F. If you are interested in sharing or supporting this effort, please email, director@rockchurchacademy.com

Scholar Drop-off & Pick-up

Please be sure to sign-in and sign-out your scholar daily!

We will use a one-way traffic circle for scholar drop-off and car-line pick up. Our car line will run from 8:00-8:20 a.m. Parents arriving after 8:20 a.m. should park and walk their scholar into the building. All scholars in grades K5 through 10 must arrive to school by 8:20 a.m. to be marked on time for school.

NEW FOR 2025- Scholars will now exit their vehicles closer to the flag pole and admin parking area. Scholars should follow the yellow footprints on the asphalt to walk safely towards the building. Our RCA Safety Patrol will help escort younger scholars into the building.

Parents who want to park and walk their children inside the building may park in the center spaces of the main parking lot, then walk around the flag pole circle, following the yellow footprints. Handicapped spaces are only for those who have a visible handicapped license plate or hanging tag.

Pre-K parents should park in the middle of the parking lot for dismissal, then walk into the building through the school office to pick up their scholar from their classrooms.

Dashboard Cards

Your scholar's grade level will be written in the box on the left.

Your scholars full name goes on the the solid line above the time slot.

The time slot will reflect your assigned dismissal time (see above). If you have scholars in multiple grades, the pick up time will default to the oldest child.
