Letter from the Chairman
Dear Committee Chairs and Committee Members,

What a fantastic turnout on Primary Election Day! Unofficial results show a 49% turnout of Republicans which is much higher than the turnouts in 2012 (26%) or 2008 (24%).

Thank you all for your outstanding work supporting our candidates on the polls and for the write-ins. While we await Allegheny County Election Department to tally and publish the write-in votes, here is the unofficial data compiled by the RCAC team:
  • There were 4,866 write-in Republican votes for Representative in Congress from the 14th Congressional in Allegheny County.  (Lenny McAllister)
  • There were 428 write-in Republican votes for Representative to the General Assembly from the 35th District. (Fawn Montgomery)
  • 72 precincts in Allegheny County received 10 or more write-in votes for Republican Committeeman
  • 91 precincts in Allegheny County received 10 or more write-in votes for Republican Committeewoman
I want to thank all of you for actively participating and using the write-in poll card to identify new committee members as well as for write-ins. In three precincts in the city where there are no committee members, we were able to get 16 new interested individuals (and these names will be shared with the City Chairs for follow-up). It is even encouraging to see that we could potentially have write-ins for 72 new Committeemen and 92 new Committeewomen in Allegheny County.

We have received good feedback on the write-in poll card initiative and I am sharing one such comment below: "The Penn Hills Republican Committee found the 'write-in/new contacts' to be useful.  We were able to get a number of new people to add to our e-mail list by using them. I will give the new contacts your website with the first e-mail I send them. Thank you for helping us by having those cards printed & distributed!" - Gwen Korvick (Penn Hills Republican Committee).

As a follow-up to my earlier communication, please expect to receive a survey from RCAC in the next couple of weeks. The survey will quantify our performance as of now, identify the top priorities of each local committee, and help determine top initiatives for RCAC to better support the local committees and elected Republican officials.

As always, please do not hesitate to contact me at 412-600-8078 or dr@ceiamerica.com if you have any questions or feedback.

Sincerely,

D. Raja

The Allegheny County Elections Department will begin tallying write-in votes at the very earliest (very optimistically), Friday, May 6.
Inform RCAC of Upcoming Events
Between now and the fall General Election, there will be many community events such as parades, community days, and festivals happening thorough out Allegheny County.   RCAC would like to partner with the local committees, and candidate campaigns in ensuring a presence at these events.  We believe this is an excellent opportunity to recruit volunteers and committee members, distribute candidate information, and register individuals to vote. If you are aware of any upcoming events, please email the details to John Schnaedter at Director@rcac.net.
