WE'RE A NATIONAL MEDAL FINALIST!
Have you heard the news? Last week, the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) named Redwood City Public Library as a finalist for the 2021 National Medal for Museum and Library Service! This prestigious award honors institutions for their extraordinary public service and remarkable community contributions. We are honored to be in the company of the 30 finalists and to be the only institution in California to be selected. Three libraries will be selected for the final award and will be announced in May or June. Read the press release here.

Now we want to hear from you! On April 28, IMLS will spotlight what makes Redwood City Public Library a contender for this award. Tell us how we’ve made an impact on your life and feel free to include photos and videos. You can email us here or post your story to social media and tag us @RCPLibrary on Facebook, @redwoodcitylibrary on Instagram and @RWCLibary on Twitter with the hashtag #IMLSmedals.
IN SUPPORT OF OUR ASIAN & PACIFIC ISLANDER NEIGHBORS
Redwood City Public Library condemns all acts of violence against members of our Asian and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities in the Bay Area and elsewhere in the United States. "Welcoming all people" is part of our mission statement, and equity and inclusion are the top community aspirations toward which the Library's service priorities are focused. As we often do when the world turns upside down, we turn to reading for education, enlightenment and comfort. If you wish to understand the stories of our AAPI neighbors, we have compiled reading lists for adults, for kids and with downloadables to get you started. We also have a Grab Bag category this week - just select it when you make your Curbside Pickup appointment.
