How restorative justice could help to heal science communities torn apart by harassment misconduct

"When a scientist is found to have harassed a colleague or student, it can reverberate through the research community — sometimes for decades.

Not knowing how to treat the parties involved and a lack of guidelines for how to handle a harasser’s data, research, collaborations and publications can tear specialities apart. Why RCR Training Matters

Sage Publishing and Research Ethics have nationally recognized the UK Responsible Conduct of Research & Scholarly Activity (RCR) Program. See the results from the first 2 years of the RCR In-Person Training Program. [Article HTML]

RCR Compliance for the In-Person Training/Discussion Component by College

Complete your RCR training today!

As of August 28, 2024, we have 88% compliance with the In-Person Training/Discussion component across all colleges.

Thank you to all who have completed the RCR In-Person training and Welcome to the new Graduate Students!

*Reminder: RCR training is biennial for both components. If you have completed the online Basic stage, the online Refresher stage must be completed every two years by your certificate expiration date to stay in compliance. The in-person training is a separate component and does not count as the refresher stage.

RCR In-Person Training

As of January 1, 2024, individuals added to an initial research protocol must have both components of the RCR training completed before the protocol is submitted to the IRB or approved by IACUC.

To find available session dates, please go to the RCR In-Person Training page. Sessions will be added as they become available.

*RCR training is biennial. In-Person training must be completed every two years. This training is in addition to the online RCR course.
