The Rochester City School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Carmine Peluso as Deputy Superintendent of Operations and Administration. He officially begins his duties as Deputy on July 11, 2022, as Dr. Genelle Morris has accepted the position of Superintendent of the Olean City School District.
Dr. Peluso has served as Chief of Schools since 2018. In this role, he supervises and supports teaching, learning, operations, and leadership at a network of our schools. Prior to his role as Chief of Schools, Dr. Peluso was Principal of Dr. Louis A. Cerulli School No. 34, where he led reforms to move the school from the NYS Receivership list, out of Priority School status, and into good standing. Before joining the District, he was Principal of East Rochester Junior/Senior High School in East Rochester and served in Assistant Principal roles. Prior to becoming a school leader, he was a classroom teacher here in the RCSD at Edison Technical and Occupational Learning Center and in the Pittsford Central School District. A longtime educator in the RCSD, Dr. Peluso knows our students, families, staff, city, and community. Entering his 25th year in the field, he has focused on working with stakeholders to problem solve and implement creative actions to support students, families, and staff.
Dr. Peluso earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Distributive Education from Nazareth College, a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from St. John Fisher College, a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Leadership from Niagara University, and a Doctorate in Education from St. John Fisher College.
