The Future City Competition applies math, science, and design concepts to try to solve citywide sustainability issues.
Over the course of 5 months teams have written essays, created a virtual city, researched sustainable concepts, used surveying skills, maintained a budget, and built full scale models.
This year's competition is themed Natural Disasters. Teams of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students will present on the process they have developed to create a SimCity virtual design, a scale model, and a project plan.
They will be judged by District representatives and a member of the community, Mark Siwiec, a local real estate agent.
