News You Don't Want to Miss!

The Bean Pot is Back!

The classic softball showdown between RDC and the Town of Holderness is back in action! Originally played from 1993 to 2018, this beloved tradition returned in 2024 thanks to a renewed community initiative between RDC and the Town of Holderness.

The Bean Pot brings together RDC guests, staff, and the local community for three fun evenings of softball and a cookout at the final game. Everyone is welcome — cheer on your favorite team, grab a bite, and enjoy a true taste of summer on Squam! This season's first two games, held on July 23 and July 30, saw the Town of Holderness take the win. Don’t miss the final match-up on Wednesday, August 13!

RDC History Window

In 2017, the old Kellogg Rec Hall - once a camp garage - was taken down to make way for something new and meaningful—The Commons, RDC’s dedicated museum and archive center.

Opened in 2018, The Commons marked the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the union between Deephaven and Rockywold. Inside, you can find compelling panels, displays, and materials that tell the RDC story. The building is intended for multiple Camp uses. Much-needed meeting space was integrated into the design to accommodate groups of up to 30 people.

The Commons is also home to the Camp Store, making it a perfect stop for both history buffs and shoppers alike. Come explore the rich legacy of RDC, laid out in a timeline full of photos and other old materials, and discover how our camp community has grown and thrived through the years!
