IN THIS ISSUE:

THANKS to ALL WHO ATTENDED
2019 RDGA RULES OF GOLF SEMINARS!

NEARLY 1000 PEOPLE WILL HAVE ATTENDED
THIS YEAR'S SEMINARS BETWEEN JANUARY AND MAY

As soon as RDGA officials knew that the USGA and R&A were planning to enact major changes to the Rules of Golf beginning on January 1, 2019, we knew that there would be a large demand for knowledge, training and instruction on what those changes would mean to golfers everywhere in the District .

Due to these changes, RDGA Rules Officials, Staff and Board Members organized, conducted and planned a series of Rules Seminars, beginning in late January and continuing through early May. With most of these Seminars already complete, it is estimated that nearly 1000 people will have attended the sessions by the time the last seminar is held in early May!

The RDGA wishes to thank all those who attended and hosted the 2019 RDGA Rules Seminar series - with a special thanks to RDGA Rules Officials Wilson Fitch, Dan Overbeck, Michael Sorce, Paul Turner, Gerry Stahl and Alan Pritchard for their time and effort in conducting these Seminars, without whom, they would not have enjoyed the success they did.

LOCAL GOLF COMMUNITY TURNS OUT
TO CELEBRATE TWO-MONTHS-TO-GO MARK
FOR THE 2019 KITCHEN AID SENIOR PGA

PGA of America Director of Communications Julius Mason, left, welcomes defending Senior PGA Championship winner Paul Broadhurst, right to Rochester during the Senior PGA Media Day at Oak Hill on March 26.

Although temperatures were cold and the golf course was quiet, Oak Hill Country Club hosted representatives from most of the Rochester area golfing community on Tuesday, March 26. The occasion was the official Media Day for the upcoming 2019 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship, as well as the two-month-to-go mark until the Championship is set to begin.

The guest of honor was 53-year-old Paul Broadhurst - the native of Walsall, England who captured the Senior PGA Championship title a year ago at Harbor Shores, Michigan. Representatives from the local golfing community in attendance included Western New York PGA Section and RDGA officials, as well as many of the top officials from the PGA of America.

The RDGA is proud to partner with the PGA of America and the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship to promote golf in the Rochester area, as well as junior golf and Grow The Game programs supported by both organizations.
