JUST A REMINDER: The official
RDGA score posting season begins
ONE MONTH FROM TODAY. Be ready for the start of the 2019 season - sign up or renew your USGA GHIN Handicap now!
The Rochester District Golf Association score posting season officially begins on April 15. It is important to know that any scores made in the Rochester area between then and October 31, 2019 must be posted for handicap purposes!
Having a
USGA GHIN Handicap Index through the
RDGA not only gives you an official handicap for the season, it also means that you are eligible to play in events on the
RDGA Tournament Schedule. There are many ways to get a
USGA GHIN Handicap through the RDGA, including: becoming a member at one of 66 area
RDGA Member Clubs or, by joining the
RDGA eClub.

SIGN UP FOR A USGA TM SEMINAR ON APRIL 5-6
Coming up on
Friday
and Saturday, April 5 and 6, the Rochester District Golf Association will be hosting informational seminars at our offices for our Member Clubs on the use of the USGA Tournament Management system - the free-to-use cloud-based software that allows clubs to organize events, leagues and trips while managing player rosters and GHIN Handicapping.
T
he
RDGA will be welcoming Golf Genius Northeast Region Account Manager Ken Dixon to Rochester to lead the seminars and provide free-of-charge demonstrations of Tournament Management Club to representatives of RDGA Member Clubs, as well as Western New York PGA Section Professionals, who will be able to earn education credits for attending the one-day seminars.
These seminars will include separate sessions ranging from introductory to intermediate use, depending on your experience level.

2019 RDGA MATCH PLAY CHAMPIONSHIPS:

PLAYERS RANKED 33 AND ABOVE
Attention
RDGA tournament golfers: If you finished in the top-32 of the Men's RDGA Player of the Year or RDGA Senior Player of the Year points standings for 2018, you earned a spot in the starting field for the 2019 RDGA Match Play and Senior Match Play Championships.
That's the good news. But there is a caveat - in order to reserve your place in the 32-player fields, you need to register for the Match Play Championships by May 1,
which means there's only 5 weeks left to sign up. AFTER April 24, we may begin to fill in vacant spots in the field with the next-ranked player on the points lists.
If you are unsure of where you finished on the 2018 points list, or would like to know if you are eligible to enter this year's Match Play or Senior Match Play Championships, please consult the exemptions lists:

The 2019 RDGA Match Play and Senior Match Play Championships will be hosted by Mill Creek Golf Club on May 17 to 19 - join us for the first RDGA Championship event of the year!

POPULAR SEMINARS CONCLUDE MARCH 23 and 30
The
2019 RDGA Rules of Golf Seminars
have been drawing big crowds all month. Now, only two remain! Only limited space remains for the last two Rules Seminars, scheduled for Saturday, March 23 and Saturday, March 30. These three-hour seminars will each be led by our own expert Rules officials and will include refreshments as well as official Rules of Golf books.
There is still time for you to sign up for one of our two remaining Rules Seminars. Here is the schedule:
- March 30 at Ridgemont CC, 9 a.m. to Noon. Open to all members of WEST side RDGA Member Clubs, free of charge. Only 3 spots remain!

3) Register for RDGA Tournaments:
- After junior has received a GHIN Number and created a player profile the next step is to register for 2019 RDGA Junior Tournaments
NOTE:In order to be eligible for RDGA Player of the Year Award Points and to qualify to play on the Rochester Williamson Cup Team and the Boys and Girls Interdistrict Team, you MUST play in at least 1 RDGA event

4) After Registration:
- If you have opted for the RDGA Junior Golf Membership you will receive:
- Confirmation email from Youth on Course with an online curriculum link to be completed allowing you to receive your YOC membership card in the mail
- Two (2) Adult Flex tickets to attend the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship with your juniors in May
- Discounts for HJGT membership and lessons at The Golf Academy Rochester and TGA College Golf Combine
- If you have opted for either the RDGA Junior Membership or the RDGA Junior GHIN Account use your GHIN Number to input scores from your golf rounds on GHIN.com, the GHIN mobile App, any GHIN Kiosk or on the RDGA Website.
