June's Theme is Play
Hello Families,

The last Sunday of our congregational year has arrived. And it's also Father's Day! Plus the summer solstice is coming up next week. So I've gathered some stories, a beautiful song and a video about summer and making a labyrinth. Also, if you haven't checked out the Soulful Home packets, I linked to some of them below. They are a beautiful resource.
I hope you will pop into some of our RE hikes this summer so we can stay in touch and see each other in person.

Sending so many blessings and so much love to you. You fill my heart with joy.

And for your convenience, all past newsletters can be found here on the UUCSC website

Summer Solstice:
Making a meditative labyrinth
I invite you to come learn how to make a meditative labyrinth on paper or in the sand! In this video, I talk about the summer solstice and finding balance on the longest day of the year. Then I show you how to draw a meditative labyrinth on paper. I can't wait to see what you create!
Stories for RE
Picture Books
Daddy, Papa and Me, by Leslea Newman. How fun it is to have two dads!
My Dad, by Susan Quinn and Marina Ruiz. A sweet story about what makes this girl's dad special. It's all the little things that add up to fantastic :)
The Longest Day: Celebrating Summer Solstice by Wendy Pfeffer. How have people celebrated the solstice through history and what exactly is happening in the sky and on earth on this longest day?
Song of the Week
Lifted In Love
with Lea Morris

We are here to be lifted in love
Look at the trees, they tell us
We are here to be lived in love
Look at the birds, they tell us
We're here to be lifted in love
To listen to love
As a flower raises its gaze to the sun
We are all one
Here to be lifted in grace and love
Soulful Connections
Soulful Home Packets
I've shared these in the past and want to highlight them again for the summer. These packets are wonderful resources to bring UU faith into the home for all ages. They are simple and fun. There's also a section for parents, which seems like a lovely way to connect with other adults.

Here is this month's on the theme of Play. There's a wonderful idea for a scavenger hunt that reminds us to play with all the natural things we find in the world.

And here are some previous months. Let me know if you want more!
