CHAMBER EVENTS
What a great turn out we had at JTB this morning - almost 30 people filled the showfloor and some shopping was had by all. The bankers in the room enjoyed the tour of the two old bank vaults.

JTB is part of the local holiday shopping night tomorrow night (see below) - so be sure to stop in if you missed seeing them this morning.

Our final Good Morning Buffalo of the year will be had at their neighboring business, Natural Roots Salon, who also has done a huge renovation to their new space. That will be on Thursday, December 15th.

If you would like to host a Good Morning Buffalo at your place of business in 2023, please let me know. Would like to see the calendar filling up early!

THE BROTHERS CAFFE
1006 Commercial Drive
612-598-6347

If you haven't been to The Brothers Caffe for breakfast - you have to get there. They are now also open for dinner! The food is tasty and the portions are large and the price is right!

Freddy and Geronimo Calle, brothers, own one cafe in Rockford and opened a second location here in May. There are four brothers total - all from Ecuador - that do the cooking!
Chris, the main server, was a loyal customer who wanted to help the Calle's get started. She is the smiling face you see daily.

If you don't want to cook on Thanksgiving, they have their breakfast menu from 7 to noon and a full turkey dinner offered from noon to 4:00. Otherwise, they are open M-F from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m and weekends from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

SUPER 8 MOTEL

The Ambassador group made a stop at our Super 8 Motel owned by Mona Patel. With Buffalo only having 2 hotels, they are both kept quite busy. The Super 8 offers 32 affordable rooms (average $70/night), that are clean and pet friendly. They have a continental breakfast area and swimming pool as well.

Mona, who is from India, has raised her family here, but would love to move back home after 20 years of owning the hotel. If you are aware of anyone wanting to work in the hospitality industry, give her a call!

BUSINESS INFORMATION
OUR CHAMBER BOARD AT ITS BEST!

Every year, our Chamber Board has an afternoon retreat, where we talk about where the Chamber has been and where we are going. Thanks to you, our members, we are able to continue to do great things, like offer up the joint training opportunity with the great speakers mentioned above. We are able to continue to make our community events bigger and better and are able to have a website to be proud of that highlights you and our community to name a few! This volunteer group of Board members works hard for our members!

We welcomed new Board members Holly Golyer/Old National Bank, Eric Fink/Whirltronics and Steve Novacek/Optimal Function Physical Therapy and Wellness. We look forward to their input and ideas!

We will be sending out a small survey soon, where we ask for your feedback and input - so we know best how to continue to serve you! Be on the lookout and please participate.

Thank you to the staff at Havenwood for allowing us to use the space and providing a tasty lunch. Thank you to Emily Theisen for taking our headshots for the website and thank you to Kristi Paul of Evelyns Wine Bar/Muffy's Basement for providing us our mixology class to end the day.

DOWNTOWN 2040 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN OPEN HOUSE NEXT MONDAY NIGHT

If you are curious or want to give input as to where you see the community 20 years from now, stop in and talk to some City staff and consultants on Monday, November 21st from

LIKE HERDING CATS BUT FOR A GOOD CAUSE!

Jeremy Laxen, owner of our local Culver's and our Chamber Board Chair made an all call to the various groups who over the year, Culver's has helped raise money. Boy what a crowd, of mostly teenagers, that represented Dance, Soccer, FFA, Royalty and a whole lot more - who all benefited from the $50,000 that has been happily donated by Culver's to their cause.

Was a fun time trying to get them all to gather, be seen and stop talking long enough to get a shot. This isn't the final photo obviously, but wanted to share and show you, our members, what Culver's does for our community. This week for every Concrete Mixer that is ordered, Culver's is donating $1 to the local food shelf! We are blessed!
BE SURE TO SHOP LOCAL THIS HOLIDAY SEASON!

The holiday shopping season is in full swing! Make sure you patron our own small independently owned stores this holiday season. It keeps money in our community, keeps our community thriving, and it's always better to give something unique - which you can only find small!

Tomorrow night is the Hometown Holiday event, where several shops in close proximity, are open to you for a fun night with special deals and promotions and a chance to meet Father Christmas! You will need to be in close proximity as the weather is to be cold - but don't let that stop you from supporting local. Some other shops in town may be open too - so just look for the lights on!

Next Saturday, is Small Business Saturday. Come to the small parking lot behind A Wreath of Franklin to get your Shop Small bag filled with goodies. This bag and treats are provided by the Buffalo Retail Group. Starts at 10 a.m. until supplies last!
GO TAP YOUR TOES TO FOOTLOOSE AT BHS THIS WEEKEND!
