We hope you are soaking up this beautiful weather and enjoying these glorious Spring days. This month's newsletter is filled with upcoming opportunities to learn, connect, and grow as REALTORS®. We hope you'll take advantage of the events and classes we have planned, including the highly-anticipated *virtual* EVOLVE expo on April 13th & 14th!
We'd also like to officially welcome our new Government Affairs & Communications Director, Kim Huckaby, who will represent FAR membership on governmental issues impacting real estate, providing advice and insight to local policy makers and recommending Association policy. Huckaby is a veteran public and government affairs professional with 15+ years of experience in the San Joaquin Valley, including working with U.S. Rep. Jim Costa. Huckaby served as a political and government affairs consultant, running successful candidate and lobbying campaigns at the federal, state, and local levels. Most recently, Huckaby served as CEO and Government Affairs Director for the Bakersfield Association of REALTORS® and we are grateful to now have her on our FAR team!

"There are so many legislative issues facing real estate and housing, including drastically low housing inventory statewide, but we remain optimistic and ready to tackle the vital issues. Fair Housing - Words/Phrases Alert
Fair Housing is a critical part of why you call yourself a REALTOR®. C.A.R. has worked tirelessly to mandate Remarks- Listing Content and Fair Housing (Section 12.5.2 in your Fresno MLS Rules) a rule that ensures all listing information, including remarks is in Compliance with Fair Housing Laws. Your Rapattoni MLS system will now alert you in the event an unacceptable word or phrase is entered into your listing information.

Return your ballot by April 13th
The Fresno Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors have approved an amendment in the current Bylaws to allow, when needed or necessary, the use of electronic mail or other electronic means for delivering ballots to members and voting. To make this amendment possible, a paper ballot was mailed to you for consideration. Please vote and return the ballot in the postage paid envelope provided by April 13, 2021. Thanks for your attention to this so we can be more flexible and inclusive with our voting!

This coming Tuesday, April 6th at 9:00am join our weekly MLS Virtual Home Tour. In addition to the caravan, we will be hosting a fun Jeopardy game on Prop 19!
