It is one of Northwest Christian’s longest standing traditions! The Red Letter Challenge is Mr. Brown’s annual invitation to join him in reading through the four gospels in three months, one chapter per day. Imagine the fun of experiencing Jesus in a fresh and new way…while experiencing the same stories and teachings alongside your friends, teachers, and Mr. Brown! And, of course, we’re going to go over-the-top with the fun at the same time.
To facilitate some of the fun, the Red Letter Challenge annually follows a theme. In recent years, we have enjoyed Legos and Video Games. This year, we are looking forward to racing with the Gospel Grand Prix 2026!
Following the scheduled Bible reading plan below, the Crusader community can work through the gospels corporately. Within the daily schedule, you have two opportunities. First, if you click on the scripture passage itself, the provided link will take you straight to that specific passage on Biblegateway.com. Second, each day throughout the three months, you will be able to click on the racing image right next to the listed passage. Following that link, you will open the Off the Page Book Club podcast where you will be able to listen to Mr. Brown read the entire chapter to you. Consider listening to the podcast each day on your way to school as a family...it could transform your day...and your life!

Yes! As you read through the Red Letter Challenge schedule, at the end of each week, there is a link. If the student has finished all of the daily, chapter-long readings for that week or listened to each episode of the daily podcast, their name can be entered at that link to be part of a weekly drawing. On various weeks, during elementary chapel, Mr. Brown is going to draw the names of eligible student participants. Depending on the prize for that week, that student will have the opportunity to win an unbelievably cool racing prize or participate in a field trip to a racing destination.
As students mature in their walk with Christ, it is developmentally appropriate to use extrinsic reminders of the intrinsic good that these sorts of daily, spiritual disciplines accomplish within their lives. Please consider using this as the foundation for a lifelong commitment to daily time in God's word. You will discover that God's word is its own reward.

This week, if you register by September 8th, we will be giving away a VOLPAM electric racing scooter in chapel on Wednesday, September 9th! Be sure to register each time you finish a week of the RLC! Each time you register, your name goes into the bin from which we pull the names of the drawings' winning students. So, the more weeks you finish, the greater your chances of winning!

If you register by September 15th, you will be eligible for one of 16 spots in a real life Go-Kart race at Andretti Indoor Karting and Games! We'll be pulling these names in chapel on Wednesday, September 16th! For the winning students, details will be sent home.
Additionally, if you completed the first three weeks of the RedLetterChallenge.org, you are eligible to enter the GOSPEL GRAND PRIX! The first 300 students (100 @ K/1st grade, 100 @ 2nd/3rd grade, and 100 @ 4th/5th grade) whose names have been registered online for weeks one through three, will have a free pinewood derby car waiting for them in the elementary office. The pinewood derby cars must be picked up by and signed for by a parent. The winner of the GOSPEL GRAND PRIX in each of the three divisions will win their own Go-Kart like the one pictured!
