Greetings!

As the world gathers in New York, UN-REDD will champion forests and REDD+, helping keep forest finance, tenure and implementation central to the global climate agenda.

Across forest countries, REDD+ is helping turn climate commitments into practical action, from mobilising climate finance and supporting communities to strengthening more inclusive forest governance.

UN-REDD continues to work with countries to advance these forest and climate goals, while highlighting the people and communities at the heart of this work. Across regions, women are also taking on stronger roles in advancing REDD+ efforts.

In Asia-Pacific, Papua New Guinea has launched implementation of its Green Climate Fund Results-Based Payment Programme. In Africa, Zambia is creating new opportunities for forest-based livelihoods and markets, while Ghana is advancing more equitable approaches to sharing the benefits of forest finance. In Latin America, Colombia is building on six years of experience to strengthen community forestry as a pathway to sustainable forest management.

Together, these and many other experiences demonstrate how REDD+ can translate climate commitments into action that delivers tangible benefits for both people and forests. They also underscore why continued investment, collaboration and ambition are essential to accelerate progress.
