Our local Taylor County Sheriff's Office Deputy, Troy Anderson, was shot three times while on a traffic stop on the night of February 22nd. Deputy Anderson was flown to Shand’s Hospital and was treated for gunshot wounds to the neck, hand and jaw.

The suspect who fired on Deputy Anderson, fled the scene but was later shot and killed that night after breaking into a Dixie County residence and exchanging gunfire with the homeowner, Wayne Pert. Mr. Pert suffered a bullet wound to his shoulder and is in the process of recovering as well.

To help raise money for the two heroes, we are doing a March Madness Raffle Prize! Tickets are $5.00 each and can be bought via VENMO, CASHAPP or in-store at Sea Hag Marina!

Winner will be announced April 1st and ALL proceeds will go to the heroes!

On March 18th, the Steinhatchee Stingrays elementary 12U Baseball Team played in a scrimmage game against a group of adults from our local businesses! The game was put together to help raise money for the Stingrays Baseball Program, each volunteer donated $25 or more and played against the kids, making it a town-wide game of fun!

Curtis Harper with Kathi's Krabs Restaurant played against his son, DJ, who was a great pitcher!

Miss Dana Lamb from Grandpa's Barnyard Cafe had tons of fun playing against her son!

Josh Webb with The American Dream Realty brought his A-Game!

Tannah Lytle with Hatcher Realty was our All-Star Teammate with her bating and first base skills. Tifton Davis next to her brought the competition!

Chaeli Harden & Danielle Norwood, representing Sea Hag and Heart of Hatchee, said they were a little sore the next day and would stick to coaching! WAIT! Danielle Norwood says she can't wait to play again! Capt. Chase Norwood and Capt. Connor McKinnon represented Chase~N~Fish Charters and said they were ready for the next game!

Overall the game was tons of fun for everyone involved! The whole town gathered at the ball field and really helped the Stingrays Baseball Program! Love our small town Steinhatchee!

April 9th is the Josh's Place Inshore Fishing Tournament! Come out and fish!
