 An informal meeting convened by the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce to discuss the impact of sharks on the region’s beaches and the need to share information about what is being done to address the public safety concerns of residents and visitors was held today in Centerville at the Chamber’s headquarters.

The Falmouth Hospital Medical Staff is now accepting applications for its annual scholarship awards to area high school students. The Medical Staff will award four scholarships of $1,000 each to qualified students, as determined by the Medical Staff Scholarship Committee.

Cape Cod 5 Announces $50,000 In Grants to Martha’s Vineyard Institutions
Cape Cod 5 recently presented a $25,000 grant to the Martha’s Vineyard Museum. The grant, which will be distributed over the next three years, will contribute to the Museum’s Capital Campaign and supports the establishment of its new campus on 151 Lagoon Pond Road in Vineyard Haven.

BID-Plymouth Celebrates National Donate Life Month
Laura Benting clutched a photo of her son, Matthew, playing hockey just a week before he passed away. “As a family, we know that Matthew has continued to do what he did best,” Benting said as she stood beneath the Donate Life flag outside of Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth (BID-Plymouth). “He loved people and giving back to the world and after his passing, he was able to continue to do that by saving lives through organ donation.”
