VIRTUAL Project COMMON BOND
July 13th - 17th
Daily, from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM EST (USA)
Hosted via Zoom
What are you doing this summer? Did you know...
- Colleges and universities are learning that most in-person events and programs have been cancelled this summer
- They suggest prospective students take advantage of virtual programs, classes and leadership opportunities
- The Common App will now include a COVID-19 section for students to describe what they did during the quarantine period. They are looking for proactive innovative activities outside the school curriculum
- This is a unique opportunity for young adults to join their global peers in a virtual peace leadership experience. You will create a community with young adults from Algeria, Belgium, Haiti, India, Kenya, Kosovo, Lebanon, Nigeria, Northern Ireland, Palestine, Republic of Congo, Sri Lanka and Sudan, and many more!
Project COMMON BOND is an international program that brings together young people ages 15-20 who have experienced the loss of a loved one due to terrorism, violent extremism, conflict or US military service. Through recognition of how conflict has impacted their lives and experiencing this unique multicultural community, participants are empowered to be PEACE BUILDERS and AGENTS OF CHANGE back in their communities.
Here's what you can expect:
- Build friendships with other young adults in a multicultural learning community
- Be surrounded by a community of understanding peers
- Share your experience and build resilience together
- Learn how to make a difference in your community
The 2020 summer session of Project COMMON BOND will be hosted VIRTUALLY.
