The 2022 Tribal Healing to Wellness Court Enhancement Training (Enhancement Training) will be held September 26-28, 2022 in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the Isleta Hotel. The Enhancement Training is a tribal-specific national training for tribal problem-solving courts that features Wellness Court best practices and innovative strategies in the field of Healing to Wellness Courts. Conference curriculum will revolve around the theme: Innovations in Healing to Wellness Courts: Creating a Path Forward.

The Tribal Law and Policy Institute (TLPI) is pleased to offer three plenary sessions, forty workshops, and a veterans Healing to Wellness Court Symposium organized into four tracks:

  • Adult Healing to Wellness Court
  • Juvenile/Family Treatment Court
  • Healing to Wellness Team Member Roles
  • Veterans Treatment

This training will be oriented around the Tribal Ten Key Components and the National Association of Drug Court Professionals (NADCP) National Drug Court Standards. The Enhancement Training is a unique opportunity to receive information on current drug court best practices, learn innovative approaches to substance abuse and treatment, and engage with other Healing to Wellness Courts practitioners from across the country.

The Enhancement Training focuses upon tribal issues, including jurisdictional and legal issues unique to Indian country; the incorporation of custom and tradition into the phases, case management, treatment curriculums, and tangential services; and the peer-to-peer sharing of successful Healing to Wellness Courts models in operation. Training topics will cover adult criminal, juvenile delinquency, family dependency, DWI/DUI, and veterans models.

The Enhancement Training is free to all participants.

Health & Safety

TLPI takes the health and safety of attendees, speakers, and staff seriously. We know that the decision whether to attend an in-person training is based upon a variety of personal and business considerations. We will continue to monitor a variety of sources, including the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and U.S. state and local health authorities for the latest public health updates, as well as applicable restrictions on events and gatherings. TLPI plans to hold this training in-person but reserves the right to cancel or reschedule this event or convert it to a virtual event if health and safety restrictions require it. We will update the registrants and the website should the plans for this event change.

TLPI has partnered with CrowdPass, a third-party software, which will enable attendees to provide easy proof of required COVID-related health insights and to make entry into the meeting faster, safer, and more secure for everyone onsite. You will need to register with CrowdPass.
