Are you a university or college in Michigan looking to make a meaningful impact on local and regional economic development? Student-Led, Faculty-Guided Projects offer a unique opportunity to connect your institution’s expertise and talent with Michigan communities in need of technical assistance. These projects are led by universities, where students—under the guidance of experienced faculty—provide crucial support to address economic development challenges.
Through these initiatives, students gain invaluable hands-on experience applying their academic knowledge in real-world settings, while faculty lend their expertise to ensure high-quality outcomes. Communities benefit from the technical assistance provided, which often includes data collection, analysis, and the development of actionable plans and strategies.
REI funding remains available for universities to lead these impactful projects. By participating, your institution can play a pivotal role in advancing Michigan’s economy while offering students transformative learning opportunities. If your university is interested in pursuing a Student-Led, Faculty-Guided Project, we encourage you to submit an application soon.
