LG STEPS ON WISHES OF NEW YORK AND NEW JERSEY COMMUNITIES, MOVES FORWARD WITH MAJOR HQ CONSTRUCITON
COUNCIL MEMBER YDANIS RODRIGUEZ SPEAKS OUT AGAINST BUILDING'S AFFECT ON TOURISM IN WASHINGTON HEIGHTS
New York, NY--With LG Electronics moving forward on their plan to build a new Northeastern Headquarters, residents of Inwood, Washington Heights, Hudson Heights, Harlem and the Upper West Side are concerned that the views of the land granted by the Rockefeller family for preservation will be blighted with the new behemoth building.
NYC Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez had this to say about the new development:
"With the construction of a new headquarters in the New Jersey Palisades, LG electronics will be marring a natural and historic landmark that so many value in both New York and New Jersey. This will damage not only this natural land but the beautiful vistas from Fort Tryon Park, hurting tourism in Washington Heights. I strongly urge LG to reconsider their actions and push their new building west, away from the palisades, preserving this beautiful land."
