ELI BREMER TO PRESIDENT BIDEN: SELECT A JUSTICE THAT UPHOLDS THE CONSTITUTION
US Senate candidate and Olympian issues a statement on the news that Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer is leaving the bench

(COLORADO SPRINGS, CO) - United States Senate candidate and Olympian Eli Bremer released the following statement on media reports that United States Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer will retire at the end of the court’s term.
“I strongly encourage President Biden to nominate a new Supreme Court Justice whose values mirror those of common sense Coloradans that will respect and uphold the Constitution. The last thing our nation needs is an extremist Justice that decides cases based on politics. Judges that hope to legislate from the bench need not apply. There should be one deciding factor when Supreme Court Justices hear cases and issue critically important rulings: does this decision uphold the Constitution?”
“Our Founding Fathers established the Supreme Court to serve as a measured check and balance on the Presidency and Congress. We owe it to them to be judicious in selecting a new Justice that will keep politics out of our country's most sacred hall of justice. It is time for Senators to put political differences aside, get to work, collaborate with one another, and select the strongest Supreme Court Justice that could serve our country for decades to come. As your next US Senator from Colorado, I’ll vote to approve Justices that respect the Constitution, protect the lives of the unborn, maintain safeguards to hold fair elections, and support law enforcement.”
