Candidacy for State Representative

Deeter is a Healthcare Provider and Small Business Owner in House District 54

(HURON COUNTY) – Today, Kellie Deeter, a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA), nurse practitioner, and local small business owner announced her candidacy as a Republican for Ohio’s 54th House District. The district encompasses most of Huron County and portions of Lorain County. The district is currently represented by Representative Dick Stein, who is unable to seek re-election due to constitutional term limits.

 

Deeter has lived in Huron County for more than 30 years and has been a CRNA for over 15 years, working in outpatient and in-patient settings at various hospitals throughout Northern Ohio during her career. She is a graduate of Bowling Green State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a graduate of the University of Akron’s Nurse Anesthesia Program where she earned her master’s degree, and she earned a Doctorate in Nursing from Maryville University in St. Louis. Since 2007, Kellie has owned Firelands Anesthesia in Willard, Ohio and since 2021, has also owned and operated the Firelands Medispa.

 

“I am proud to announce my candidacy for state representative today and I have been humbled by the tremendous outpouring of support I have already received throughout the district,” Deeter said. “There are only a small handful of doctors and nurses elected to serve at the state level today, and I intend to use my experiences as a healthcare professional and as a business owner to find lasting solutions to our most pressing issues in Ohio.”

 

Kellie and her husband Keven reside in Norwalk with their six children. In her capacity as a CRNA, she has served as the President of the Ohio State Association of Nurse Anesthetists (OSANA) and is an active member of the of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA). She is the recipient of the 2018 AANA Ira Gunn Award for Outstanding Professional Advocacy and the 2017 OSANA CRNA of the Year Award.
