Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez joined NYS Assemblywoman Carmen De La Rosa, and Community Leader Carlos Rodriguez to call on all centers to stop
dehumanizing
our migrant children who are detained here in New York City.
"We must treat all migrant children with decency, let's protect their confidentiality without taking away their dignity." said Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez, who calls this whole situation inhumane and tragic.
Trump's "zero tolerance" policy has separated over 2,000 children from their parents when they entered the United States asking for asylum and put them in detention centers around the country, including here in New York City.
We are asking all CBO's organizations and all centers to be open to offer help to the children as much as they can. We are also demanding for the federal government to keep these children in the same state as their parents, and NOT separate them thousands of miles away.

- El Concejal Ydanis Rodríguez se unió a la Asambleista Estatal Carmen De La Rosa y al Lider Comunitario Carlos Rodriguez para hacer un llamado a todos los centros para que dejen de deshumanizar a nuestros niños y nińas migrantes que están detenidos aquí en la ciudad de Nueva York.
"Debemos tratar a todos los niños y niñas migrantes con decencia, protejiendo su confidencialidad sin quitarles su dignidad". dijo el Concejal Ydanis Rodríguez, quien dice que esta situación es inhumana y trágica.
La política de "Cero Tolerancia" de Trump ha separado a más de 2,000 niños de sus familias cuando ingresaron a los Estados Unidos pidiendo asilo y los pusieron en centros de detención en todo el país, incluso aquí en la ciudad de Nueva York.
Estamos pidiendo a todas las organizaciones sin fines de lucros y todos los centros que estén abiertos para ofrecer ayuda a los niños tanto como puedan. También estamos exigiendo que el gobierno federal mantenga a estos niños y niñas en el mismo estado que sus padres, y NO los separe a miles de millas de distancia.
