REMINDER! Ongoing Cemetery Clean-Up

Families have until June 15 to remove all items and borders not in compliance with the Rules and Regulations of Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery. After June 15, Leo and Brian will remove and dispose of borders and items not allowed.

PLEASE PASS THIS INFORMATION ON TO FAMILY MEMBERS AND FRIENDS WHO PLACE ITEMS ON YOUR LOVED ONES BURIAL SPACES.

Letter from Nick and Ellen Brumder ... Rules & Regulations

Dear Families in Faith,

Coming back to Texas each summer is a special joy for us, and seeing the beauty at Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery always delights us. Besides the lovely features of our beloved Saints, the tender care you pour into the grave site of your loved one is a sign of ‘The Love that Endures Forever’. Having sure faith in the promises of Christ’s return and the Great Reunion of His Resurrected Flock, Our Lady’s beauty expresses the joyful anticipation of that glorious day.

Because of this vision so dear to us all, we must ask for your help and cooperation in honoring our Rules and Regulations. My dear friend, Diana Pier, now at rest at Our Lady, served as VP, trusted advisor and gentle but firm enforcer of those rules and regulations, available on our website. Before she tragically died, she had gathered her friends and family to do a big clean up at the cemetery, including removal of all borders (her #1 priority) and artificial flowers, and items on graves that exceeded the 2 allowed.

May we please request that each family who is not complying with these important regulations, do so by June 15? The only area where borders are allowed is in the Forest Garden, where no mowing takes place. After June 15, Leo and Brian will remove and dispose of borders and items.

We hope to see Our Lady restored to her radiant natural, uncluttered beauty before we return to New Zealand. Thank you so much for your love of Our Lady and help with this vision.

1000 blessings of Faith, Hope and Love

Nick and Ellen Brumder, Founders

A BEAUTIFUL VISION

Your loved one is resting in a place of natural beauty.

Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery & Prayer Garden was designed using the European model. Nick and Ellen Brumder heard the calling and conceived this dream in 2004, the year of the rosary. Pope John Paul II sent his blessing in a letter. This cemetery would be “natural” – reflecting the seasons of the year; each season showing its natural beauty: the dryness in Winter, the new beginnings of Spring, the brightness of Summer and the changing in the Fall. This is our life’s cycle too.

Hence, we’re asking each family, their relatives, and friends to comply with the following. As a benefit, our grounds can be better maintained and when opening/closing graves there will be less damage to adjacent gravesites.

  • NO more than TWO ITEMS per burial plot
  • NO Boarders: this includes tile, rocks, wood, metal, any type of plastic or concrete. Boarders are allowed in the Forest Garden since this area is never mowed.
  • NO Rocks
  • NO Solar Lights
  • NO Candles
  • NO Yard Art (spinning birds, wind catchers, garden globes, etc.)
  • NO Shepherd Hooks of ANY size
  • NO Windchimes
  • NO Hanging Baskets
  • NO Astroturf
  • NO Mulch higher than 2-4 inches
  • NO Planting of Trees or Miniature Fir Trees (Exception: Small live fir trees are allowed in containers during the month of December for the Christmas season. These items are removed after the Epiphany on January 6.)
  • NO Shrubbery shall extend beyond the boundaries of a family's space(s)
  • NO Plastic of any kind, this includes artificial flowers
  • NO Toys, gloves, balls, caps, shoes, boots, clothing
  • NO Glass Vases** or glass items of any kind
  • NO Beer Cans, Soda Bottles, Champagne/Liquor/Wine Bottles
  • NO Metal of any kind including wire baskets around plants
  • NO Silk Flowers
  • NO Wreaths or Wreath Stands (Exceptions: 1. Wreaths and stands are allowed for funeral services and are removed once the arrangements have wilted. 2. Christmas wreaths are allowed in December and removed after the Epiphany on January 6. Easter wreaths will be removed one week after Easter Sunday.)

** An OLLA, a terra cotta ground pot which holds water that slowly seeps into the ground is the BEST way to maintain plantings and flowers. Visit the following for online purchases: https://growoya.com  https://www.lehmans.com https://territorialseed.com https://www.amazon.com https://drippingspringsollas.com

We invite you to celebrate your loved one’s birthday ON the day of his/her birth. Please use our picnic area located near the pond in the tree area behind the KIOSK Information Board if food is involved. Happy Birthday helium balloons are permitted but will be removed once they become deflated.
