Alpha Girls – Meet the Women of Venture Capital
Get a close-up look at venture capital investing from the perspective of Sonja Hoel Perkins and Magdalena Yesil, two of Silicon Valley's leading venture capitalists. Having achieved stellar results investing in technology companies, they co-founded Broadway Angels, an angel investment group composed of world-class women investors. Perkins and Yesil will share their success secrets with journalist Julian Guthrie, whose forthcoming book Alpha Girls profiles the trailblazing women in venture investing. Prepare to be inspired.

Sonja Hoel Perkins
Venture Investor; Founder, The Perkins Fund; Broadway Angels

Sonja Hoel Perkins is the Managing Director of The Perkins Fund, Founder of Broadway Angels and Founder of Project Glimmer. Considered one of the best performing and most senior professionals in venture capital, she invests broadly in all stages and areas of information technology including Internet, mobile, security, data, communications, consumer and software. She has invested in several startups that have achieved multi billion dollar valuations. Her investment “hall of fame” includes McAfee Associates, F5, Acme Packet and Q1 Labs. In 2015, Worth Magazine ranked Sonja among the 100 Most Powerful People in Finance in the World.

Magdalena Yesil
Venture Investor; Founder, Broadway Angels

Magdalena Yesil is a founder, entrepreneur, and venture capitalist of many of the world’s top technology companies, including Salesforce, where she was the first investor. She served on the board from inception to post IPO. A former general partner at U.S. Venture Partners, she oversaw investments in more than thirty early-stage companies and served on the boards of many. Yesil is a founder of Broadway Angels, a group of female venture capitalists and angel investors. Author of Power UP, she is currently working on her fourth startup.

Julian Guthrie
Author and Journalist

Award-winning journalist and NY Times best-selling author, Julian Guthrie spent twenty years at the San Francisco Chronicle, where she won numerous awards. Her feature writing and enterprise reporting were nominated multiple times for the Pulitzer Prize. Ms. Guthrie's most recent book is How to Make a Spaceship , a NYT best-seller about the private race to space, with an afterword by the late Stephen Hawking. Alpha Girls , about a group of trailblazing women in tech, will be out early next year and has been optioned for film.
