* City of Richmond
9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. - Groundwork Richmond hosts Earth Day on the Greenway, along the eastern portion of the Richmond Greenway from Carlson Boulevard to San Pablo Avenue. Work will include preparations for public art installations and removing invasive species and litter and there will also be educational activities for all ages. Meet at the intersection of Carlson and the Richmond Greenway.
* El Sobrante
9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. - SPAWNERS will host an Earth Day event at the El Sobrante Library at 4191 Appian Way, in collaboration with the El Sobrante Chamber of Commerce and the library. The event will include trash pickup, native plant gardening, mulching, and kids crafts and activities. Light breakfast and lunch will be provided to all volunteers. * North Richmond - Green Festival and Earth Day Celebration
9 a.m. to 2 p.m. - Wildcat Creek cleanup, meet at Verde Elementary School, 2000 Giaramita Street. Festival starts at 10 a.m. at the North Richmond Ball Field at Fred Jackson Way and Pittsburgh Ave. Art activities, garden projects, music, dancing and more. Free refreshments.

* Point Isabel - Rydin Road entrance, East Bay Regional Park District
9 a.m. to 12 p.m. - Help protect marine habitat by cleaning up the East Bay shoreline. Join us to remove trash before it travels any further into the Bay and ocean ecosystems, and earn your membership to the Fish Friend Club. Meet at the Rydin Road staging area. Click here for more or to
