Reminder: Military Student Support
Dear Colleagues,

In case you missed it yesterday, I want to draw your attention to the email from the Office of the Registrar regarding the Military Withdrawal option for students (included below). As you know, recent global events have resulted in an increase in deployments that have had an immediate impact on our military students and families. Your awareness of this policy will assist them in managing this transition should the need arise.

We also want to be sensitive to extenuating circumstances and needs of our military-affiliated students and families at this time. If you learn of any student in need, please remember that Georgia Southern University offers a variety of resources to support student mental health and well-being. Visit the H.E.R.O folder or the Military and Veterans Services webpage for more information.

Thank you for your care and attention for our military students and their families. Your continued support and concern is deeply appreciated.

Sincerely,
Carl

Good morning faculty and staff,

We want to take this opportunity to remind everyone of our Military Withdrawal policy and process. Military students who are called to active duty while attending classes are eligible to receive a special Military Withdrawal.

If needed, the student would initiate this process by completing the online Withdrawal Form. Military students called to active duty would complete the form and attach a copy of their orders. Once approved, the student will receive a 100% refund and WM (Withdrew Military) grades for their courses, which do not count towards their course withdrawal limit or academic GPA.

If you receive an inquiry regarding our Military Withdrawal process, please refer the student to our convenient Withdrawal Form or Military Withdrawal page. In addition, we are glad to assist with any further information or guidance. Please email us at [email protected].

Sincerely,
Office of the Registrar
