Texas Celebration Recap
A Celebration to Remember

The August 19th TEXAS CELEBRATION featuring U.S. Senator Ted Cruz and Congressman Kevin Brady was truly a celebration to remember!

The event team set out to create a Texas atmosphere that would set the stage for our dynamic and articulate Senator Cruz. The decision was made to include an entertainment package along with a Texas BBQ meal and an individual ticket price of $50. With the help of Sharity Productions' Gene and Betty Wolf, the award-winning Texas Tradition Band led by Billy Mata assisted by a professional sound system and the famous riding longhorn steers from the Marci and Russell Tiner's Cross T Ranch of Bandera , TX were booked. The Lone Star Convention Center and Expo was chosen as the venue that best suited the event program.

Thanks to the generosity of our Major Sponsors, the Party was able to make the theme of a TEXAS CELEBRATION come true. The following were Major Sponsors:

John Wiesner Automotive -   Band & Sound System

            Conroe Feeders Supply & Representative

            Brandon Creighton             -   Longhorn Steers

Congressman Kevin Brady -   Dessert (peach cobbler)

Robert & Kim Marling         -   Head Table

            Wayne Mack, Candidate

for JP Precinct #1                  -   Hand held Texas flags

Table Sponsors were Bill & Holly Byrd (2), Dr. Wally and Neddie Jane Wilkerson, Virginia and Champe Miller, Edward Blackburne, Jr., MCRW (2), Bill and Bonnie Orr, Jim and Kelly Clark, Senator Tommy and Marsha Williams, State Representative Dan Branch, Dave T. Roberts (Teligistics) and Commissioners Doyal/Meador.

The TEXAS CELEBRATION teListening to Senator Cruzam elected to use ads on radio stations KSTAR-AM (Mary McCoy Show) and KNTH-AM (Sam Malone Show) and two skytop printed ads in THE COURIER in addition to email blasts to the Party's 3,500 address list. The results speak for themselves! Nearly 600 meals were served and the crowd was estimated to be over 700 by Convention Center officials.   They were entertained by great  Texas style music, fed a superb BBQ meal by McKenzie's of Conroe and heard great presentations by Representative Creighton, Senator Tommy Williams and Congressman Kevin Brady. The final act was delivered by Senator Cruz who wowed the audience with his inspirational and motivational speech, all done without the Obama-teleprompter. And finally, the Party's Treasury benefited from this wonderful experience.

None of this would have happened without a great team effort. Special thanks to Brigitte Izzo, the event coordinator, to Lezlie Cuellar for a fabulous job in charge of decorations, to Brigitte's and Lezlie's helpers- Carol Siedhoff, Marie and Pearl Maggio, Donna Barr, Ann Kate, Cheree Page, Sharon O'Neil, and other wonderful ladies. Thanks also to the Young Republicans who were in charge of the cleanup crew.
