This Friday: RYSE Youth Center's "Be a Kid!" Celebration
I hope you'll join me this Friday, April 29 for the Be a Kid! Home by Midnight  annual fundraiser for the RYSE Youth Center in Richmond.

RYSE's annual spring fundraising event   is a "happy-hour" style party with delicious food and refreshments. This year's event will include drawing lessons led by an accomplished local artist, live performances by RYSE youth, and a variety of interactive activities for adults to explore how youth navigate their self-discovery in a supportive, relevant youth-driven environment.

This event is the one occasion at RYSE that is exclusively for people age 21 and over.

At the RYSE Center , youth receive a host of services covering health and wellness, education and employment, and leadership training. There's also a range of enriching activities including media and performance arts, gardening, and sports.

The proceeds from this event support the RYSE Center in creating safe spaces and programs grounded in social justice to build the power of young people to love, learn, educate, heal, and transform lives and communities.

Now in its 7th year, RYSE has served more than 3,000 young people. As one of its founders and a current RYSE board member, I personally see the positive differences it makes in the lives of our youth.
