Sandra M. Ackermann-Schaufler, CFA
Head of International and Emerging Markets Equity & Senior Portfolio Manager, SEI

Sandra M. Ackermann-Schaufler is an accomplished asset management and investment executive with 20+ years of capital allocation experience and a successful track record managing assets across market capitalization and geographic regions for institutional clients, pension plans, foundations, endowments and retail clients. Until January 2020 Sandra served as Senior Portfolio Manager within SEI’s Investment Management Unit, covering global, international and emerging-market equities. She was responsible for portfolios with $19 billion in assets under management that included overseeing selection and evaluation of global, international and emerging-market equity managers for the SEI funds. Prior to joining SEI in 2009, Sandra was a senior international equity analyst and portfolio manager of Merrill Lynch’s multi-manager strategies where she co-managed the firm’s strategic and dynamic international equity portfolios. Earlier in her career, Sandra served as Chief Investment Officer and lead portfolio manager for three NYSE-listed international closed-end mutual funds at Deutsche Asset Management. Previously, she worked in diverse roles, related to asset management at HVB Capital Markets, Deutsche Asset Management and Allianz Asset Management in the US and Germany. Sandra is a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion. Sandra served as a Board Member at SEI Women’s Network and is an active member of 100 Women in Finance. Sandra also served as an Advisory Board Member for the Institutional Investor Forum and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences. She earned a Master of Science in International Economic Sciences from the University of Innsbruck, Austria, and is a CFA charterholder. She is fluent in English, German, French and Spanish.

Carla Buffulin
Portfolio Manager – Corporate, Emso Asset Management

Carla began her career in 1992 at Citibank SA in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Following a year at the University of California Berkeley, she joined Bank Boston as a senior credit analyst in Sao Paulo. Following that, she returned to Citi in Sao Paulo as the Team Head for the Credit Risk Analysis Unit. Carla then joined WestLB AG in 2003 as an Associate Director within the Global Structured Finance group. She joined Morgan Stanley & Co. in 2005, where she was most recently a Vice President in the Credit and Derivatives group for Latin America and a Project Manager within the Accounting and Valuation Team within the Equity Research Group. After Morgan Stanley, Carla joined Oppenheimer Funds in 2008 where she was Vice President, International Fixed Income and Co-Portfolio Manager of the Global EM Corporate Portfolio. Prior to joining Emso in 2016, Carla was a Managing Director, Senior Portfolio Manager for Emerging Markets at AIG. Carla earned a Bachelors in Business Administration from Faculdades Metropolitanas Unidas (Sao Paolo, Brazil).

Susan Wisialko
Managing Partner and CIO, Global Infrastructure Finance LLC

Susan Wisialko is the Managing Partner and CIO at Global Infrastructure Finance LLC. A firm specialized in Emerging Markets Infrastructure Debt. She is responsible for formulating investment strategy, research and execution. Prior to founding GIF, Susan was the Quasi-Sovereign / Infrastructure Analyst at GMO, an institutional asset manager in Boston. Her previous career includes Managing Partner at Fixed Income Analytics LLC, Senior Vice President of State Street Bank & Trust Co, Vice President of Money Markets Marketing at Merrill Lynch and Head of the ABS Commercial Paper Group at S&P. With over 30 years of fixed income, structuring and valuation expertise, Susan is well respected and often invited to advise on hard-to-price new bond issues and speak at industry events. Susan graduated from Dartmouth College, cum laude.

Olga Yangol
Portfolio Manager – Emerging Markets Debt, HSBC Global Management

Olga Yangol is a portfolio manager focusing on Emerging Markets Debt and Currency strategies at HSBC Global Asset Management and the manager of a 2019 Lipper Award-winning fund. A frequent speaker at professional and academic conferences worldwide, and an expert commentator for major media outlets, Olga is well-known for her emerging markets insights and research. She has 16 years of investment experience with expertise in developed and emerging markets rates and foreign exchange, as well as global asset allocation. Prior to HSBC, Olga was at PIMCO where she advised large corporations on asset allocation and asset liability management. Prior to that, Olga designed and traded cross-asset derivatives products for corporations and asset managers as an executive director at CIBC Worlds Markets. She earned an MBA from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an undergraduate degree in Information Systems from McGill University. Olga holds Chartered Financial Analyst, Financial Risk Manager, Chartered Market Technician and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designations.

Erchen Yan
Senior Corporate Analyst, Emso Asset Management

Erchen started her career in 2005 in Global Industrials Investment Banking for Bank of America in New York and J.P. Morgan in Hong Kong. Prior to joining Emso in 2018, Erchen was a Senior Director at TIAA Investments on the emerging markets fixed income research team where she focused on Asian corporate and quasi-sovereign issuers across industries. Previously she also held analyst and trading positions at MetLife. Erchen has a BA in Economics and American Studies from Wellesley College, and an MBA in Finance and Management from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Emso was created in 2000 by a specialized team with deep experience gained in the formative years of emerging market asset trading. In 2013, Emso became an independent, fully employee-owned asset management company after it was purchased by 27 of its employees. Emso currently employs more than 80 people and manages approximately USD 5.5 billion in client assets across various emerging markets fixed income strategies, including absolute return (offshore and UCITS), liquid alternatives, alternative long-only, and credit opportunities. Emso’s strategies are jointly managed by a team of research and investment professionals, many of whom have been active in emerging markets investing for more than 20 years. Emso is headquartered in London, UK, and consists of Emso Asset Management Limited in London and a wholly-owned subsidiary, Emso Asset Management US LLC, in New York.
