With the recent news of Santa Clara County's shelter-in-place being extended to May 3rd, 4others and FMSC have rescheduled the
Food 4others MobilePack for
October 10th and 11th
. Please save the date!
After discussions with FMSC, our event site hosts (San Jose Elks), and the Santa Clara County Public Health Department, we’ve chosen new dates based on the best information we have available at this time. Delaying the event until the fall also allows our school partners enough time to raise funds and recruit volunteers for their involvement at the MobilePack.
Your continued support and generosity are so important to us and to our partner Feed My Starving Children.
Due to a temporary halt in production at both permanent and MobilePack sites nationwide, FMSC has been unable to produce the
one million meals a day
required to meet the needs of its global feeding partners.
Even though volunteers are currently unable to pack meals, that hasn’t stopped FMSC from finding alternative ways to ensure kids around the world are still getting the nutrition they need. One interim solution has been to continue bulk packing using a co-packer.
While machine meal production is more expensive, meals are once again on their way to kids!
Although we’ll miss seeing you later this month, this crisis will not stop us from getting nutritious food to hungry kids. We will continue to prepare for the most impactful Food 4others MobilePack event yet, while working closely with our public health officials to ensure the safety of our staff, volunteers, community and food recipients. Our partners at FMSC have a lot of catching up to do,
but we believe our 4others community will step up to the plate in October with an enthusiasm that more than makes up for lost time!
