Ber Kotlerman is Associate Professor of Yiddish Studies in the Dept. of Literature of the Jewish People, Bar-Ilan University in Israel. He was born in Irkutsk and spent much of his childhood and youth in the Jewish Autonomous Region of Birobidzhan.
