REST...
February 2020
“Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.”
John Lubbock

Times of rest and refreshing are as important as the times of projects and outreaches for without refreshment we become less effective during the busy seasons. This is what January means to us.
WEEK OF FASTING AND PRAYER

Rest and refreshment, however, doesn’t mean that we stop going to church or prayer meetings. Spending time with the saints and with God should refresh our souls and spirits.

As usual, we took a week during the month of January for fasting and prayer to seek the guidance of God for this next year. One of our focuses during this time of fasting was to seek wisdom as a church for choosing new elders and deacons.
HOME GROUPS

In October a few families in our church began hosting home groups in their homes in strategic areas of the city. The home groups meet once a month, and one of our goals for the home groups is to target those particular neighborhoods and encourage our families living there to invite their neighbors. Our family hosts one of the home groups, and we personally have been prayed regularly for our neighbors since moving into our home. This past month one of the families living in our neighborhood came to our home group and were very open and interested. They went home with a copy of Nicky Cruz’s biography Run Baby Run. Our prayer is that they will continue to be open and that the Holy Spirit would draw them to himself.
PRAISE REPORTS>
>God has been sending new people our way.
>People have been very open to the Gospel this past month.
>God has been stirring hearts among us and pouring out a fresh zeal.
PHILOS

Mario, along with a few other christians in Zagreb, is in the process of opening a civil society organization called PHILOS that will work in association with our church. There are so many needs in our city and country, and there are means and avenues that are made available to civil societies that are not open to churches. Having a CSO opens many doors to us that otherwise might not be open.
PRAYER NEEDS>
>   God’s continued provision and guidance for purchasing our first home.
>That God would continue to soften the hearts of our neighbors.
>  Continued finances for the purchase of our church building.
OUR FAMILY...
...is doing well. Filip is in the middle of shooting two films - one as a school project and one as a personal project. He hopes to have both films go to various international film festivals in Croatia. Luka continues to play drums with Bonnie’s band and continues to improve amazingly as a drummer. Divna is preparing for an entrance exam to a special high school that she hopes to get into, and Vjera continues to enjoy dancing. Please, be praying for us. We are hoping to finally purchase a house this year. There is a possible avenue that God has opened up for us, and we need his wisdom and guidance as we move forward.

Thank you all for your continued prayer and loving support. We are so grateful to the Lord for each and every one of you.

In His Love,
Mario & Bonnie
