National Volunteer Month

recently spoke at a Victor-Farmington Rotary Club meeting about FLCI services, which include health care coordination, family consultation, education, respite, support groups and health and wellness programming. Read the article
Seventeen individuals completed Companion courses on March 16 and 20
, at the Summit Community and Senior Center, Frisco, and in Eagle County. They will serve caregivers who care for senior family members and loved ones.
REST Master Trainers are offering a Train-the-Trainer workshop this summer.

Na Hoaloha, Maui, held a Companion course on March 30, training seven individuals. The grass-roots organization enhances the quality of life of seniors, and helps them remain independent through a variety of programs. Among them: the In-home Respite Program.
Congratulations to Tammy Rosa, our REST Trainer of the Quarter! Tammy is program manager at the Upper Peninsula Area Agency on Aging in Escanaba. Since becoming a REST Trainer in October, she has been quite active, holding two REST Companion classes, and completing the REST Master training course in March. Tammy is now in the process of setting up three to four more Companion trainings, and will hold her first Train-the-Trainer workshop as a Master Trainer on May 23-24. Click here to learn more.
Tammy has done some terrific outreach and marketing efforts to promote REST in her area. In fact, WLUC TV 6 covered her first REST Companion training, and aired the story it in February. Tammy has received great feedback, and she says there is such great value in REST as a respite training program.
